wrapped some rubber around 'em

Got some rubber wrapped around 'em today. The tires are 145/80 f560's and 195/70 gt2's.now, all i need is a decent car to fit them to.if anyone is interested, i'm selling my previous wheels.(just send me a message)

they're painted

I painted the remaining 3 wheels yesterday and found the correct magnesium lugnuts to mount them.

first one painted

yeehaaaa, the first rim is painted. they turned out high gloss black instead of semi gloss.

they're polished

after i read on someone's blog that i don't regularly update my blog i decided to prove the contrary and share some pics of what's currently in da works. (hope you like it)last week i started polishing my set of fuchs i purchased a couple of weeks ago.they are all 4 15*6 and the inserts will be painted matt black like they did in the factory. I hope i can get them painted next week and get some tires wrapped around. Tires will be the same as i have on the steelies 145 and 195/70, hope this gives me the stance i would like to have. let me know what cha think of them.

chassis

allright, some things i still need to do before the body can be placed in position : -braided steel brake lines, bleed the brakes, adjust the upper left king pin, mount engine, connect the handbrake, find a correct tie rod for a 59 beetle( the ones in the shops all seem to be wrong, the conus is different and i can't find a correct new one) and that's about it.

today i started mounting the brakes, the koni's, removed the gearbox from a 1500 beetle,....tommorow more.Notice that the spindles do not widen the front like most spindles do, if you're interested in a set like mine,don't hesitate to contact www.gas-vw.com

painted rims

i finally got around to paint my wheels (ral 7005), these will be shod with a set of 195/70 goodyears and a pair of firestone f560's in 145r15.The chassis received a pair of new floorplates, new paint, new cables, new link-pins, new dropped spindles, had the drums put on a lathe,new dual circuit master brake cilinder, braided steel brake lines,....

correcting the rear panel

I started correcting the rear panel and painted it in a 2K epoxy paint, there is still some work to it, but that's a problem for next time.

356 wheels

because i don't have the time to work on my bug, i spend to much time on the internet looking for interesting deals, last week i found a set of 356 wheels with in the front 2 good michelin 135 ZX tires on it, I could'nt resist so i bought mysef these.They will recieve a sandblast and powdercoatjob (original porsche colour, if anyone has the code for that) and a set of new tires for the rear.

since i'am planning to drive this bug on a daily base, comfort is one of the main achievements, thats why i bought a set of zero offset dropped spindles @ GAS.

zolotoned the front underside of the beetle

The paint on the second foto doesn't really look like it supposed to look like, but that is due to shadow. ( the fact that i can't work decently with a camera has nothing to do with this)

painted teh rear and underside of the car in beige epoxy

As you can see in the pictures, the innerwings, motorcompartment and underside have been painted in beige epoxy paint to prevent rust from coming back.There are some mistakes in the paint, but i will remove these before painting the second layer

Bought myself something new to play with.

Last weekend i bought this 1968 vw beetle. It features a 1500cc 44hp engine, long gearbox, disc brakes, nice seats and headliner, he only has 41000km's on the counter. It has been standing in a barn for about 15 years. He has been in traffic untill 1984. There is a possibility that i will sell this beetle( complete or in parts) to invest in my other bug(59).People that are interested in some parts can always drop me a mail. You won't find then any better than this one. Never welded, fully original, comes with papers,....The only welding that has to happen are the rear bumper mounts that have a couple of miniature holes in them.
